This pattern is designed specifically for throwing at resting or "laid up" tarpon. The combination of materials give the fly a slower sink rate which helps keep the fly in front of the fish longer, enticing the grab. The barring on the marabou tail adds attraction and helps make this one of the "must have" patterns for any tarpon angler.

water redfish. Mixed with ostrich in the body, these flies blend subtlety with flash and result in a well visible fly in many murky and higher water conditions. And most importantly, "there's always money in the banana stand".

An excellent, classic Tarpon fly, with a black and red color combo that looks great in the water and offers good contrast. When tarpon are in the mood, this fly gets very positive eats.
